Remembrance of Allah (Proved from Hadith)

Remembrance of Allah is an essential practice in Islam that involves constantly praising and remembering Allah through various forms of worship. This practice has been emphasized in both the Quran and Hadith, highlighting its importance for the soul. In this blog, we will explore the benefits of remembrance of Allah by quoting Hadith references.

1. Protection from Satan

One of the benefits of remembrance of Allah is protection from Satan. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever says, 'La ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-mulk wa lahul-hamd wa huwa `ala kulli shay'in qadir' (There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner or associate; His is the sovereignty, and His is the praise, and He has power over all things) a hundred times a day will have a reward equivalent to that of freeing ten slaves, one hundred good deeds will be recorded for him, and one hundred sins will be erased from his record, and it will be a shield for him from Satan on that day until evening. No one will do anything better than what he does except someone who does more than him." (Sahih Bukhari)

2. Forgiveness of Sins

Another benefit of remembrance of Allah is forgiveness of sins. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "The one who says 'Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi' (Glory be to Allah and praise Him) one hundred times a day will have his sins forgiven even if they were as much as the foam of the sea." (Sahih Bukhari)

3. Increase in Good Deeds

Remembrance of Allah also leads to an increase in good deeds. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "The best of deeds is the remembrance of Allah." (Sahih Bukhari) Additionally, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever says 'Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi' (Glory be to Allah and praise Him) one hundred times a day, his sins will be forgiven even if they were like the foam of the sea." (Sahih Bukhari)

4. Protection from Hellfire

Remembrance of Allah also protects one from the punishment of Hellfire. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "The people of Paradise will not regret anything except one thing alone: the hour that passed them by in which they made no remembrance of Allah." (Sahih Muslim)

5. Increase in Provision

Finally, remembrance of Allah leads to an increase in provision. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever says 'La ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-mulk wa lahul-hamd wa huwa `ala kulli shay'in qadir' (There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner or associate; His is the sovereignty, and His is the praise, and He has power over all things) a hundred times a day, it will be equivalent to freeing ten slaves, and one hundred good deeds will be written for him, and one hundred sins will be removed from him, and it will be a protection for him from Satan that day until evening. No one will do anything better than what he does except someone who does more than him." (Sahih Bukhari)

In conclusion, remembrance of Allah has numerous benefits for the soul. It protects one from Satan, leads to forgiveness of sins, increases good deeds, protects from Hellfire, and increases provision. As Muslims, we should strive to make remembrance of Allah a part of our daily lives and encourage others to do the same. May Allah guide us and grant us the ability to remember Him constantly. Ameen.
